Update to Real Boxing introduces real time multiplayer and virtual betting

Independent developer Vivid Games has announced that the Android version of its hit title Real Boxing has been updated to include a brand new real time multiplayer mode on Android mobiles and tablets.

The update brings a variety of new features to the game that has reached the number one slot on Google Play in over 40 countries. This includes the ability for players to fight it out against real world opponents and rank on the leaderboards, as well as wager virtual currency on their own matches.

The game has also been optimised for HD devices including the all new Nexus 7 and new language support has been added in Russian, Korean, Chinese and Japanese.

Utilising the new Google Play Games service, Real Boxing enables gamers to locate opponents anywhere in the world and challenge them to a fight as well as achieve fame and glory via new continental and global rankings.

To up the ante and get players to put their (virtual) money where their mouth is, Vivid Games has also introduced a wager system that enables gamers to bet in-game currency on the outcome of their own fight and win more coins that can then be used to unlock new items and upgrades.

Players are also able to use their virtual currency to buy lottery tickets that give them a chance of winning a temporary performance-enhancing boost in matches.

Real Boxing features an immersive Career Mode in which players fight through multiple tournaments and real world venues in their quest to become World Champion. While boxing for the title, players must take on over 30 opponents, each with their own unique fighting style. Players can improve their boxer's core skills through a series of mini games including skipping rope, heavy bag and mini bag.
