  • Apple is under the cosh for patent infringement; a US jury has found that the University of Wisconsin’s 1998 patent on improving efficiency in computer processors is valid and that Apple illegally incorporated the patent’s tech in processors to help power some iPhone’s and iPad’s.   • The latest smartphone sales data from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech for the three months ending August 2015 shows the US marketshare for the Apple iOS at its lowest point since August 2014, as consumers waited for the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to become available in September.   • Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic is getting a thumbs up of sorts from former Apple CEO John Sculley and co-founder Steve ‘Woz’ Wozniak, who have stated they saw a glimmer of their old friend in the footage. Daily Telegraph story.
  • The CEO of Tag Heuer has had a public go at the validity of Apple’s luxury Apple Watch Edition, ahead of the launch of Tag Heuer’s own high end smartwatch. Jean-Claude Biver from Tag Heuer said the expensive Apple watch will become obsolete too fast to justify the expense. CNBC story.
