Flagship smartphone selected as one of the first Android Enterprise Recommended devices
HMD Global, the new home of Nokia phones, has announced that the Nokia 8 will be one of the first devices included in Android Enterprise Recommended, a new Google-led programme that makes recommendations on the business devices and networks best suited for Android Enterprise deployments.
Android Enterprise Recommended gives potential enterprise customers confidence, knowing that the phones are validated by Google for meeting objective business standards.

Devices selected for the programme have passed a rigorous testing process conducted by Google. This ensures devices and services meet higher specifications for hardware, deployment, security and user experience to meet the needs of some of the most challenging and diverse business environments. These specifications include: minimum hardware specifications for Android 7.0+ devices; support for bulk device enrolment of Android devices including zero-touch; delivery of Android security updates within 90 days of release from Google, for a minimum of three years; availability of unlocked devices, to support global deployments; and limiting of default system apps within the Android work profile and on managed devices.
Nokia 8 delivers a pure version of Android 8.0 Oreo with no skins and no changes in the user interface. No pre-installed apps or hidden processes maximises battery life and device storage out of the box, as well as delivering a fresh canvas to deploy enterprise applications without the risk of conflicts. Monthly security updates, every thirty days, come as standard to give peace of mind in the palm of the hands of the workforce.
With zero-touch enrolment, organisations can deploy the Nokia 8 with enterprise mobility management settings pre-configured. The phones can be configured online and drop-shipped to employees so that they can start using it right out of the box.
By separating work and personal apps and data on the Nokia 8, organisations will be safe in the knowledge that all sensitive information is kept secure. It also means the end of the two phone worker, as users have the freedom to use the personal apps and services they want, all on one device.
To help employees stay informed, Android 8.0 Oreo on Nokia 8 makes it easier to see management actions taken across the device, such as the installation of a new app or enforcement of a lock screen. Android 8.0 Oreo comes with stricter enforcement of Google Play Protect, allowing organisations to block unknown or risky apps from being installed. These additional layers of enterprise management helps ensure security integrity of the Nokia 8 while protecting user privacy.
