Pearson teams with Apigee to give developers Plus & Play API access
Apigee, the API company, has announced that Pearson, the global learning company, now runs its Plug & Play developer platform on the Apigee Enterprise API management platform.
Launched last September, the Pearson Plug & Play initiative delivers APIs that provide developers with access to Pearson content for exploring, testing and integrating into innovative applications. Pearson is using Apigee's API management platform and developer tools to manage growth, understand usage, and drive developer adoption of Pearson APIs.
'The power of the software development community has been proven by social media companies like Facebook and Google, and it's now being harnessed by a range of leading businesses such as Pearson,' said Chet Kapoor, Apigee CEO. 'The Plug & Play platform makes it straightforward for developers to tap Pearson's rich content and services, and in turn deliver this content to a broad market via third-party applications.'

Pearson's businesses include consumer publishing through the DK brand, educational materials and services, and business information through the Financial Times Group. The aim of the Pearson Plug & Play initiative is to make Pearson data available for developers to unleash their creativity to develop new products and new ways of using, displaying and blending Pearson content.
