Roamline mobile data SIM card for business travellers available for 150 countries

Business travellers wanting to surf the web across borders can now use a new SIM card, roamline, from Dutch mobile telecom operator, KPN. The roamline SIM card gives business travellers access to the mobile internet in 150 countries without requiring a subscription, with travellers only paying for what they use.

With roamline, KPN is focusing primarily on international business travellers. KPN has decided to first focus on customers from the UK, rolling out to France within the next month.

The SIM card is available on roamline for only Euro 19.95 (£16.44) and can be used in tablets, laptops and smartphones.

With roamline customers only pay Euro 0.39 (£ 0.32) per MB in all European countries, the US and Canada. That's almost half of the EU-imposed tariff (Euro 0.70) that European operators will be charging as of 1 July. In all other countries, customers pay Euro 0.89 (£0.72) per MB when they use roamline.

Usage is charged per 1 KB in arrears by debiting the customer's credit card, meaning that customers never run out of credit. Customers cannot place calls or send text messages with a roamline SIM card unless they use a voice-over-IP application such as Skype, Viber or Tango.
