AVG Technologies launches Business SSO

Puts IT providers and business owners in control of workers’ mobile devices and their remote applications

Mobile World Congress: AVG Technologies, an online security company with 197 million active users, has announced the immediate availability of AVG Business Secure Sign-On (SSO).

Underpinned by technology from identity management provider, Centrify, AVG Business SSO works to provide AVG partners and business owners with a simple way to control company data on employees’ mobile devices and cloud applications. Centrify is contributing its cloud-based authentication and mobile device management service to AVG Business SSO.

Key features of AVG Business SSO include centralised control of cloud and mobile apps and data for one-click authentication of end user mobile devices, with single secure sign-on with multi-factor authentication (MFA) for any device unifies identity and mobile device management to give simplified control of mobile data. Also, an affordable identity policy, verification and mobile device management service, including via Active Directory, plus efficient password management, so eliminating risk from easy to remember, reused or improperly managed passwords, improves end user productivity by eliminating the need to remember multiple passwords and reduces volume of helpdesk calls resulting from forgotten passwords

The company also pointed to a large range of business applications that includes support for more than 2,500 of the most popular Cloud-based business apps including Office 365, Salesforce, Webex, Facebook, LinkedIn and many more, helping IT providers monetise mobile and cloud management services.

The new services is also integrated with AVG Business Managed Workplace, which provides a single, secure access layer to AVG’s entire security and remote monitoring and management (RMM) services portfolio.

SSO capability is the most significant of several new additions to the AVG Business portfolio being released today. From today AVG Business CloudCare features several updates designed to make partners’ lives even easier. These include a new customer drop-down box that allows IT providers to adjust the settings of one or all their customers with a single click, a central, holistic view of sales alerts, support for HTML-5, and simpler access to customised reporting.
