DTS Headphone:X(R) technology delivered on MediaTek’s new smartphone processor

DTS, provider of high definition audio solutions, has announced that its DTS Headphone:X immersive sound technology is supported by the new Helio X20 processor, the latest flagship chip for smartphones from MediaTek, creator of systems on a chip for mobile devices.

DTS Headphone:X technology offers an authentic immersive 3D sound experience through any pair of headphones or earbuds to fully transport consumers into the games, movies and music they are enjoying on their smartphones.

In addition, system-level integration of DTS Headphone:X technology allows users to easily access the technology’s features with any and all applications on their phones directly from the system settings menu.

By integrating DTS Headphone:X technology, smartphone manufacturers can offer a complete multimedia mobile experience to their customers with the most advanced visual and audio technologies available. The sound quality of DTS Headphone:X technology is enhanced even further with a high-performance codec on the new processor boasting a 110-decibel signal-to-noise ratio.

“With MediaTek’s large customer base of top OEMs, smartphones users around the world will soon be able to enjoy their favourite mobile entertainment in immersive sound that fully realizes the intent of the content creator,” said Jon Kirchner, chairman and CEO of DTS. “DTS is dedicated to sound, and this MediaTek partnership is another way we are fulfilling our promise to deliver a premium sound experience to as many people as possible on every imaginable platform.”
