Orange, official sponsor of UEFA Euro 2012, announces Sony Mobile Communications as global handset partner

Orange, official global partner of UEFA Euro 2012, is working with Sony Mobile Communications to bring the tournament to life for fans across Europe through online competitions, in-store promotions, and live events. Fans will have hundreds of new opportunities to win tickets for the event from Orange, Xperia smartphones, and more. The key elements of the partnership, which may vary from country to country, includes competitions that are open to anyone, including non-Orange customers, in the 11 Orange European markets.

Two major promotions currently running are the Orange Supporters' Cup. From today fans can compete individually and in teams for prizes including VIP bus trips to Warsaw and Kiev, and Xperia S smartphones. Also, the Orange Golden Goal with Sony Mobile Communications, which is starting in May, allows fans to compete in an Orange Facebook game testing their football knowledge for opportunities to win VIP packages to the final of the tournament, Sony Playstation products and Sony Xperia smartphones. In addition the companies are creating new UEFA Euro 2012 promotions specifically for Orange customers in-store, online and via Orange call centres, giving customers the chance to win vouchers for smartphones and receive special tariffs, merchandise and gifts with every Xperia smartphone purchased. 'By working with our partner Sony Mobile Communications, we are able to offer our customers and football fans across Europe even more opportunities to win tickets, courtesy of Orange and great prizes such as the Xperia S smartphone,' said Yves Maitre, senior vice president for mobile multimedia and devices at Orange. 'At Orange, we aim to support our customers' passion, and through partnerships like this we will bring Euro 2012 to life for fans, helping them to share their UEFA Euro 2012 experience with friends and family whether they are at home or at the tournament.' Pieter Pierle, vice president, Sony Mobile Communications' director global account for Orange, commented: 'This partnership with Orange allows us to benefit from the combination of two powerful brands and gives us an opportunity to introduce our Xperia smartphones to Orange's broad customer base, extending our reach to even more consumers. UEFA Euro 2012 is going to be a major event this summer and we will enhance the experience and enjoyment of both Orange and Sony Mobile customers by giving them the opportunity to get their hands on Xperia smartphones.' This is Orange's first pan-European sponsorship, with the following countries participating: Spain, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Slovakia, Romania, Austria, Luxembourg, Moldova, Switzerland and Armenia.
