Beats Netflix to offline downloads, starting first with mobile devices

On demand movie and TV streaming portal, Wuaki.tv, has announced a major service development with users now able to download content and watch it offline at their own convenience.

Available on iOS and Android devices, the innovative feature will offer Wuaki.tv users access to the full range of latest Hollywood releases and popular TV series but with the added advantage of ‘anytime, anywhere’ viewing, and also avoiding unnecessary data consumption, making it an interesting move for mobile device users.

The new feature will apply to over 90% of Wuaki.tv titles with users offered  the opportunity to ‘Download’ in addition to the standard ‘Watch Now’ option when selecting their content.

Commenting on the latest development, Wuaki.tv global product director, Sidharth Jayant said: “We constantly listen to our customers and use their feedback to improve and enhance our platform and service. Accessibility and convenience are vital and thanks to our dedicated product and technology team, we are delighted to offer this cutting edge functionality which offers users the freedom to enjoy their favourite movies and shows at the time and location which suits them best.”

The off-line function is now available across all Apple devices with iOS 7, including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Although it is available on selected Android devices, Wuaki.tv plans to extend the off-line functionality in the near future.
