World's first IP67 water resistant standalone smart watch launches on Kickstarter
Omate has announced that the Omate TrueSmart, the world's first IP67 water resistant standalone smart watch, is now raising cash on crowd funding website, Kickstarter. After just one day on Kickstarter, it has already raised $161,289 of the $100,000 goal requested and still has 29 days to go.
TrueSmart combines smartphone capabilities along with wireless connectivity, location based services, GPS and features a camera, as well as being a watch.
The device is a multi-functional phone and notification device based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with an app interface, all in a sleek IP67 water-resistant smart watch design.
Omate TrueSmart can be connected to Google Glass and other smart wearable devices. It can make phone calls, message, connect to the internet and social media independently as a standalone smartphone. Omate TrueSmart can also be connected to all your smartphones via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, operating as a smart wearable companion to your smartphone.
The watch is powered by a 1.3GHz dual core processor ensuring all apps run smoothly. Developers can create new apps and uses using Omate's full suite of sensors independently or in a ecosystem with other wearable devices and smartphones.

The Omate TrueSmart includes 2G and 3G through a micro SIM card as well as wireless connectivity and expandable memory up to 32GB. It has a 600 mAh battery providing up to 100 hours of standby time.
The Omate TrueSmart will be shipped in October and November to supporters who pledge to support Omate TrueSmart via the Kickstarter crowd funding campaign.
